The dual study program in Management and Information Systems, which combines Management and Information Systems subjects, aims to respond to today’s knowledge-based economy characterized by the use of IT applications.

Information Technology in the business world has more outward looking and focused on increased competition in a free market. Information technology and the business world are closely related, considering that IT and Information Systems share the role of supporting the organizational activities. They do this by increasing the efficiency of the internal processes in a company and by strengthening its competitiveness, as well as by contributing to the problem solving and decision making by management.

The new curriculum for this double program offers courses to educate the students in science and business, concepts and methods, in order to prepare them as managers and business leaders. The program focuses on achieving the following competencies:

  1. Ability to plan, design and manage business;
  2. Ability to apply information technology applications in a business context;
  3. Understanding business activities including marketing, finance, human resources, operations and information systems management;
  4. Ability to demonstrate international insight and preparedness to work in various fields.

General Objective
The objective is to provide graduates with skills in management, business, and Information Systems. It is the aim of the program that graduates will also be able to integrate the new technology and develop these skills to become business managers and therefore access greater opportunities. Moreover, students will also be equipped with problem-solving skills based on their knowledge of Information Systems and business.

The dual-study program for Management and Information Systems developed its curriculum based on the Vision and Mission of BINUS UNIVERSITY. The curriculum has been influenced by the ACM, namely ISSC’99 (Information System-Centric Curriculum’99 for educating the Next generation of Information Systems Specialists, in collaboration with industry) and the curriculum of foreign universities that have an international reputation in management study programs and business.

Character Building Group (Professional Practices)
The objective of this group is to develop the personal strengths of students and to provide them with a professional character, professionalism in their field, management skills, oral and written communication skills, understanding of business ethic, ability to work as a team, and to develop a “BINUSIAN” Character.

Possible professions for graduates include Financial Corporate Planner in the field of Financial Management, Business/Entrepreneur design, Management, Corporate Information Systems and e-Business.
