General Objective
The School of Information Systems provides a study program that will enable students to become either professionals or entrepreneur in business of information technology. Our aim in IS is to prepare students for either immediate entry into the global marketplace, or for more advanced study in either business or technology.
Specific Objective
The Information Systems curriculum prepares students to have both important fundamentals IT/IS skills and a good understanding of business:
- To provide students with relevant, up-to-date, and balanced knowledge and skills in both business and IS/IT.
- To provide international quality standard in teaching, and a learning atmosphere that will allow our graduates to compete with the best in the world.

Concentration Subject (Stream)
The School of Information Systems realizes that the area of knowledge within this discipline is broad enough and is continuously developing. We recognize also that students have different interests, needs and performance. To accommodate these various demands we offer flexibility in choosing streamings. In general we divide the options into 2 (two) main categories which are: Single Degree and Double Degree. Below is the brief description of each of the streaming/minoring.
Single Degree
Information Systems Stream
This stream provides you with the knowledge and understanding to strategically develop business solution to enrich a company's competitive advantage against its competitors based on Information System and Information Technology
Project Management Stream
Project Management in Information Systems offers you complete comprehension in the understanding and development of practical knowledge of management and control of business using tools such as Business Process Modeling and Simulation and Enterprise Resource Planning.
Data Management Stream
This stream offers you the knowledge and understanding to strategically develop business solution based on Information System and Information Technology with the focus on management of data by learning techniques such as Advanced Analysis in Database Design.
Minor in Accounting
The IS major with a minor in Accounting combines the broad business and applied technology basis of Information Systems with an enhanced background in Accounting. Students who are interested in specific applications in Accounting and finance related areas will be candidates for this program.
Minor in Computer Science - Software Engineering
The Information Systems major with a minor in Computer Science combines the business foundations of Information Systems with the more technically-oriented basis of Computer Science. This is an excellent program for students who have interests in both technical and analytical aspects of information technology.
This minor is designed to provide students with knowledge and practical skills to build large and high quality software applications. It also provides the student with an opportunity to become a SUN Certified Java Programmer (SCJP). Students who would like to pursue career in IT and software industries are ideal candidates for this minor.
Minor in Computer Science - Networking
On top of the business oriented knowledge provided by the Information Systems Main Program this minor is designed to provide students with understanding, practical and creative skills to design, build and administer large scale computer networks. This stream also provides the student with and opportunity to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Students who would like to pursue careers in the IT and telecommunication industries are ideal candidates for this stream.
Minor in Computer Science – Multimedia and Intelligent Systems
The Information Systems major with a minor in Computer Science combines the business foundations of Information Systems with the more technically-oriented basis of Computer Science. On top of the broad knowledge provided by the Information Systems Main Program this minor is designed to provide students with knowledge, practical and creative skills to design and create computer graphics, animation and interactive games. This minor also provides the student with an opportunity to become a certified Maya Developer. Students who would like to pursue career in the rapidly expanding games, animation and creative industries are ideal candidates for this minor.
Minor in Marketing
The IS major with a minor in Marketing combines the broad business and applied technology basis of Information Systems with marketing and promotion skills from Marketing. Students who are interested in the application of technology to marketing and promotion areas are candidates for this program.

The program focuses on the development and design of information technology used to process information in an organisation. This program is designed to provide students with an overall understanding of international business as faced by many multinational corporations, and how it increases hypercompetition.
