& Closing Ceremony ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Contest
BINUS UNIVERSITY is going to present “Grand Launching New Anggrek Campus BINUS UNIVERSITY & Closing Ceremony ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Contest 2008 – Jakarta Site” at Auditorium Anggrek Campus BINUS UNIVERSITY on October 21st, 2008 as expression of thankfulness to God for the development and building expansion of new Anggrek Campus that had been started since the middle year 2007. In addition, it will be intertwined with the closing ceremony of the biggest computer programming contest in Asia which also hosted by BINUS UNIVERSITY called ACM-ICPC Asia Regional Contest 2008 – Jakarta Site.
The ceremony held as the implementation of vision achievement BINUS UNIVERSITY on year 2020: towards “A World Class University”. Guided by the vision, BINUS UNIVERSITY keep straighten up in order to advance the intellectual life of the people and improve the value of education in Indonesia. Therefore, BINUS UNIVERSITY also keep going to increase its education quality; not only by doing some innovation in academic aspect but also developing all sorts of facilities to support teaching and learning activity. Obviously, it will also determine the quality of excellent education in BINUS UNIVERSITY.
In the new Anggrek Campus, various of new and modern facilities are provided for the students (BINUSIAN), such as:
1. State of the Art Auditorium, has capacity more than 600 seats equipped with stage, back stage, changing room, seats with theater type, LCD projector, and classy audio system.
2. Library, with more than 70.000 books collection from printed collection, local and abroad scientific journal, CD ROM, VCD, cassettes, magazines, and newspaper that classified with Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC).
3. Classroom, for undergraduate and postgraduate program as much as 95 classrooms and equipped with LCD projector, white board, air conditioning, computer, and internet acces.
4. State of the Art IT Laboratory, for software-based practicum activity with computers that have Cyber@ccess facility.
5. Student’s Lounge, for the students to hang out and relax waiting for lecture time.
6. Meeting Room, which can use for meeting activity.
7. Exhibition Hall, can use for various activities, for example: seminar and discussion.
8. Admission, use for students academic services and to support lecture administrative activity.
As one of well-known education institution in Indonesia, BINUS UNIVERSITY also has cooperation relationship with various institution, starting from university and local or abroad school, government institution, NGO, corporation and industry, mass media until several embassy of the state. There also will be present during the ceremony: the official and management of those institution, such as Ministry of Communication and Information, Ministry of National Education, Province Government of DKI Jakarta, APTISI, APTIKOM, City Government of Jakarta Barat, DIKMENTI DKI Jakarta, Dikdasmen Depdiknas, a number of university in Jabodetabek, chief and director of BINA NUSANTARA Group, Parents Support Group BINUS SCHOOL Simprug and Serpong, associate company of BINA NUSANTARA, several embassy, mass media, and alumni of BINA NUSANTARA.
